Step-by-step instructions for preparing Red Lentil Veg Kebab

Ingredients:-

  • Masoor dal – 1 cup
  • Minced garlic – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Minced ginger – 1 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 medium
  • Carrot – 1/4 cup
  • Frozen green peas – 1/4 cup
  • Capsicum – 1/4 cup
  • Frozen corn – 3 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
  • Green chili – 2 
  • Besan – 1/2 cup
  • Coriander powder –  1 tsp
  • Kashmiri chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1/2 cup to shallow fry

Instructions:-

1. Soak 1 cup of masoor dal in water for 30 minutes; after 30 minutes, rinse and strain; transfer to a grinding jar, and coarsely grind.

2. Transfer the coarsely ground masoor dal to a bowl, and set aside.

3. To a heated pan, add 1 tablespoon of oil, once the oil gets heated, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of minced ginger.

4. Cook for a few seconds before adding the chopped onions. Cook until the onion turns transparent.

5. Once the onions are well cooked, add chopped carrots, green peas, capsicum, and frozen corn.

6. cook on a medium flame for 2 mins, add salt 

7. After 2 minutes, remove from the heat and transfer the vegetables to a bowl. 

8. Add coriander leaves, green chilis, and besan or gram flour.

9. Also add the seasoning, coriander powder, chili powder, cumin powder, and garam masala

10. Add salt as required; next, squeeze out the juice from half a lemon.

11: Mix well all the ingredients to form a dough.

12. Grease your palm, take a handful of dough, and shape it into an oval or round shape; repeat with the remaining dough and set aside.

13. Into a heated pan, pour enough oil to shallow fry the prepared kebabs.

14. Place the kebabs in the oil and fry over medium heat until golden and crispy. 

15. Once the kebabs turn crispy, remove them from the oil and serve hot with dipping sauces.

  11. Mix well all the ingredients, to form a dough.

  12. Grease palm, take a handful of dough and shape it oval or round, make more kebabs out of dough, and set aside.

  14. place the kebabs in oil, and fry on medium flame until it turns golden and crispy. 

  15. Once the kebabs turn crispy remove from oil and serve hot with dippings.
