  • Luke warm water – 1 & ¼ Cup
  • Wheat Flour – 1 Cup
  • Grated Coconut – ½ Cup
  • Poha (Flattened rice) – ½ cup
  • Yeast – 1 & ¼ tsp
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Water – ¼ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to grease pan

  • Step: 2. Transfer the batter to a bowl. The batter seems slightly thick so pour ¼ cup of warm water into it and mix well. Now the flowy batter is ready. Cover the bowl and allow resting for 30 minutes.
  • Step: 3. After 30 minutes, the batter is well fermented. Now grease a heated appam pan with little oil and pour 2 ladles full of batter into it. Spread the batter to the edges by swirling the pan. Cover and cook on medium flame until the edges turn crispy and brown. Next, slowly detach from the pan using a spatula and transfer to a plate.
  • Step: 4. repeat the same process and make more appams out of the batter. (approximately we can make 8-10 appams from this batter.) Now the yummy, crispy, healthy wheat appams are ready to serve. Enjoy with your favorite side dish. Thank you.
