This is a vegan recipe for oats beetroot chilla. The ingredients are Beetroots, Oats, Rice flour, Semolina, Ajwain, Turmeric powder, pepper powder, green chili, onions, oil, and Salt to taste. The recipe also requires the use of water and ajwain, fresh curd, and ghee.

The cooking process is easy. You need to grind the steamed beetroots in a dry grinder till they form a coarse mixture and then add little water to it. then you prepare another mixture by adding balance ingredients into a mixing bowl and finally add beetroot mixture into the bowl. mix well by adding little water till reach a smooth batter. After that, you will fry this mixture on medium heat till it becomes crunchy and soft inside at the same time, and finally, add some more water as required.

There are two versions of this recipe - with curd and without curd. Curd is optional but it does enhance the flavor and make the oats moister. This recipe is spicy, especially because of green chili and pepper powder but we can add less hot seasoning to make it milder.

Ingredients
  • 2 Beetroots
  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/2 cup Suji/Semolina
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Powder
  • Salt (as required)
  • 2 tsp Curd
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 Onions (Chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Green Chili (Chopped)
  • Peanuts
  • Oil
Instructions
  1. beetroots in steamer

    Take 2 beetroots cut them into round slices and place into a steamer. Steam for 10 minutes until it becomes soft.

  2. After 10 minutes, beetroot slices are cooked well. Allow to cool.

    Add cooked beetroot slices to a grinding jar and blend smoothly.

    Next, to a mixing bowl add ½ cup oats roasted and powdered, ½ cup rice flour, ½ cup suji/semolina, ½ teaspoon ajwain, ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon pepper powder, salt, 2 teaspoon curd, 1 teaspoon ghee. Now add pureed beetroot into the bowl and mix well.

    Pour 1 cup water into the grinding jar and remove the excess puree pour into the bowl and mix well. Add enough water to the bowl to get a semi-flowy batter.

    Heat a frying pan on a medium flame and pour a ladle full of batter into the heated pan. Spread evenly. Top it with chopped onions, coriander leaves, green chili, and peanuts. Spray oil.

  7. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame. After 2 minutes flip over and cook for another 2 minutes. Spray oil in between.
