Step-by-step instructions to kothimbir vadi recipe

Ingredients:-

  • Besan Flour - 1 cup
  • Rice Flour - 3 tbsp
  • Curd - 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Hing - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic chopped - 1 tbsp
  • Minced ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tsp
  • Chopped peanuts - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 cups
  • Oil - 1 cup to fry

Instructions:-

  • Firstly, To a mixing bowl add 1 cup besan, 3 tbsp rice flour, ¼ cup curd, 1.2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp garam masala, salt, ¼ tsp hing, 1 tbsp garlic chopped, 1 tbsp minced ginger and mix well.
  • Pour 2 cups water into batches and mix without forming lumps. Mix continues till flowy batter
  • Next, grease the setting tray and set it aside.
  • Heat a frying pan on medium flame, add 2 tbsp oil,  1 tsp cumin, and 2 tsp sesame seeds and saute for a few seconds. Next, add 2 tbsp chopped peanuts and saute for 1 minute. Then add 2 cups coriander leaves and cook for 1 minute.    
  • The next step is to pour the batter into the frying pan then stir and cook until the batter turns thick. Remember to cook on a medium flame.
  • When the batter starts to leave the pan at this stage switch off the flame and transfer it to a setting tray. Spread evenly and allow to cool in the refrigerator. after cooling cut into square pieces 
  • Add 1 cup oil to a heated fry pan and fry on medium flame until turns golden color, flip over and cook evenly.
  • Once it turns crispy remove it from the flame and transfer it to a serving plate. Crispy kothimbir Vadi is ready. Thank you.
