Ingredients:-

  • Thick Poha / Flattened Rice - 1 Cup
  • Water - 2 Cups
  • Peanuts - ¼ cup
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - ½ tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
  • Onion - 1 medium (chopped)
  • Green Chilies - 3
  • Curry Leaves - Few
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
  • Juice of half lemon
  • Coriander Leaves - Few

Instructions:-

  • Step: 1 Take a bowl and place a strainer over the bowl, then Add 1 cup thick poha (flattened rice) to the strainer and run enough water through the poha to make it soft. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  • Step: 2 Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add ¼ cup peanuts; roast for 5 minutes. Once it starts to crack and turn aromatic, remove it and set it aside. 
  • Step: 3 In the same pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil and add ½ teaspoon mustard seeds, ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 medium onion chopped, 3 green chilies, and a few curry leaves. Cook until golden. After that, season with salt to taste, ¼ teaspoon sugar, ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, roasted peanuts, and poha (flattened rice).
  • Step: 4 Carefully mix without breaking poha and add the juice of half a lemon, and a few coriander leaves. Mix and ready to serve. Now kanda poha is prepared. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy. Thank You.
