How To Make Gobi Paratha

All you need to do is make the filling by mixing the grated cauliflower, minced ginger, salt, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, green chili, and spices in a bowl. Add water and salt to the wheat flour to make the dough of the right consistency, and then knead it until it becomes smooth.

Cover the dough with cling wrap or towel and let it rest for 15 minutes before rolling it out into small rounds of about 6 inches in diameter. Press the dough balls from the center and make a hollow space for fillings. after placing, the fillings press and spread the dough balls very gently using a roller pin without tearing and sticking on the dough. Cook them on medium-high heat on a Tawa until they turn brown on both sides and they puff up to double their size - this should take about 2-3 minutes per side depending on your frying pan. Serve gobi paratha with yogurt, dal, chutney, or ketchup.

Gobi paratha is a stuffed paratha, which is a type of flatbread made from an unleavened dough of wheat flour that is typically rolled out thin and layered with ghee. The stuffing can either be dry or wet and generally consists of vegetables (gobi or potato) mixed with spices.

Making a gobi paratha is not difficult at all. You will only need some simple ingredients like wheat flour, ginger, cumin seeds, green chilies, coriander leaves, etc to make this recipe in your own kitchen! The detailed ingredients and instructions are given below.

  • 2 cup Wheat Flour
  • Salt (as required)
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Oil
  • For Stuffing
  • 300 g Gopi/Cauliflower
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger (Minced)
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1/4 tsp Ajwain
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves
  • Salt (as required)
  • 1/4 cup Ghee
Instructions

    Firstly, in a mixing bowl add 2 cups wheat flour, and salt, add enough water, and mix well to make a smooth dough. Knead for 5 minutes to make a smooth dough.

    Pour ½ teaspoon oil into the dough and knead again. cover the dough and set aside for 15 minutes.

  3. Grated cauliflower

    Take 300 grams of gopi (cauliflower) and grate into a bowl using a grater.

    To the same bowl add ½ teaspoon ginger minced, 2 green chilies, ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder, ½ teaspoon garam masala, ½ teaspoon chaat masala, ¼ teaspoon ajwain, coriander leaves, and mix well.

    Now take the dough and knead it again. Next, make medium-sized balls out of dough

    Add salt to the filling and mix just before stuffing. dust the workspace with flour and press the dough from the center and edges to create a hollow space for the stuffing.

    Now fill the stuffing inside the space and gently press it down. Seal the stuffing inside by simply rotating. The dough gets stretched by itself.

    Remove the excess dough if any, and press the ball from the center. Coat the dough with dry flour and press it using your fingers and spread it out.

    Now spread it using a rolling pin. Roll gently do not put too much pressure. Dust it in between to ensure it does not tear or get stuck.
