Ingredients

  • Milk: Whole milk is best for a rich, creamy custard. 1 cup for mixing the custard powder, 500ml for the base.
  • Custard Powder: Vanilla is the traditional choice, but experiment with other flavors! 3 tbsp is a great starting point.
  • Condensed Milk: Adds sweetness and an extra layer of creaminess.
  • Fruits: Go wild! This recipe includes sapota, apple, mango, guava, banana, kiwi, black grapes, and pomegranate, but the options are endless.
  • Other goodies: Raisins, chopped cashews, and dry figs add a lovely textural contrast.

Instructions

  1. Make the custard base: Whisk together custard powder and 1 cup of milk until smooth. In a saucepan, heat 500 ml of milk to a boil. Stir in condensed milk, then gradually add the custard mixture, whisking constantly. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  2. Fruit Fiesta: Chop your chosen fruits into bite-sized pieces. Think about a mix of colors and textures!
  3. Assemble and chill: Once the custard is chilled, gently fold in your fruit selection. Garnish with nuts, extra fruit, and anything else your heart desires. Serve in individual glasses for a touch of elegance.
Tips and Tricks
  • Customization is key: There are no wrong answers with the fruits! Use what's in season, looks gorgeous at the market, or simply tickles your fancy that day.
  • Add-ins: A pinch of cardamom powder or a splash of rosewater can add a delicate fragrance.
  • Make it a parfait: Layer custard, fruits, and even a bit of granola for a delightful textural experience.
