1. Wash and Soak 1 cup of brown lentil overnight.
2. Next day, Rinse and strain 1 cup of basmati rice. set aside the basmati rice and soaked lentil.
3. To a Kadai add 3 tbsp of oil, when the oil gets heated add 1 tbsp of minced ginger, 1 tbsp of minced garlic, and 2 chopped green chilis. saute for 2 mins
4. Add half a cup of chopped onions, and cook for 5 mins on medium flame.
5. when onions turn golden add the soaked lentil, and saute for 2 mins. then add in the basmati rice also add in 1/4 cup of frozen green peas.
6. Cook for 1 min then add in the seasoning, 1 tsp of pepper powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, half teaspoon of garam masala, and salt as required.
7. Pour 2 cups of water, and measure water in the same cup used to measure rice. Cover and cook for 10 mins on low flame.
8. Check after 10 mins, both lentils and rice are well cooked.
9. Garnish with coriander leaves, mix well and the rice is ready to serve.
